Donald D. Roethig at the age of 100 passed away on Monday June 10, 2024 at his home. He was born in Menomonee Falls on April 27, 1924, son of the late Leo E. and Margaret Roethig of Dubuque, Iowa. He married Martha Kaltenthaler of Louisville, Kentucky on May 14, 1947 in Ames, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his wife of 75 years, his parents, son Dale of Milwaukee, brother Robert of Dubuque , sister Geraldine Walsh of Dubuque and brother Leo E. Jr. of Milwaukee. He is survived by his daughter Melinda of Milwaukee and nephew Mark of Milwaukee, Adam of Waukesha, Nichole Wolter of Aurora, Illinois and other nieces, nephews and many friends.

He was a board member of the Engineers Society in Milwaukee, a life member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, a past president of the Wisconsin section of the ASCE, a life member of the American Public works Assoc., a 50 year member of the Model A Ford Club, a long term member of Mother of Good Counsel Church, a long term volunteer for the St. Vincent De Paul Society, a member of the American Legion Post 331 and a supporter of the Wisconsin Antique Auto Museum in Hartford, Wisconsin

Visitation will be Thursday, June 20th  beginning at 10am followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11am all at Mother of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 6924 W. Lisbon Avenue, Milwaukee followed by Military Honors. Private entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials to Mother of Good Counsel School Fund or Mother of Good Counsel's Conference of St. Vincent De Paul are greatly appreciated.
